Early in his design career Halston was known as the "Cashmere King". Infusing design lines with comfort and elegance Halston's clients had an insatiable appetite for his cashmeres. As Grace Mirabella, past Vogue editor in chief, proclaimed to me "come on, it's not just cashmere again, it's Halston cashmere!"
